(Alright Buffy, I'll give this a try)


10 years ago...
I had just graduated high school and was getting ready to head out to Utah to begin my college adventure... Go Cougs! I remember riding my bike from DT to the shops at Riverwoods to spend what little money I had at Abercrombie and Fitch. I also remember my S-Hall 3rd floor homies, that stupid ice cream machine in basement of our dorm (I'm still working those things off!), dance parties and late night massage sessions! I got a job working for Todd's roommate in the records department in the bottom of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Todd finally found the courage to come in and meet me. Our first date was a haunted hay ride... and that was pretty much the end of my "college adventure!"



Today's to do list...

Well since today's almost over, there's not much left to do!
1. Make dinner
2. Wipe Sam's nose for the millionth time today
3. Pack up some props for tonight's mutual activity

If I were a millionaire...
What does a million dollars really get you these days? A tank of gas??! A bigger check to the government on April 15??!


Well, I guess there's a few things I would do...

1. A few home improvement projects like, a new deck and a new kitchen (complete with this incredible sink that I saw in this years Parade of Homes!



2. I would let Todd get a new truck if I could have his Tahoe in addition to purple undercarraige lights and spinner rims!
3. A Berry family trip to Barbados. Yeah mon!



Snacks I enjoy...
There's pretty much not a snack I don't enjoy! I love anything gooey, creamy, cold, hot and the richer the better! However, I'm trying to stick to Smart Pop's Kettle Corn because I've spent a lifetime eating the above mentioned "snacks".

{First Day of Kindergarten...

Today was Jackson’s first day of school! He was so excited to go to the “big school on the hill!” His teacher’s name is Mrs. Dillon and it made his day when he found out that he and Sam Baer are in the same class. (I have a feeling that Jackson and Sam will not be sitting together...) It was so fun to watch him put on his backpack and head into his new school. I hope that this will be a fabulous year full of fun and lots of learning. Jackson is bright and will do really well. It is a day thatI will not soon forget - from 7:55 to 11:10 Sam and I are on our own. We will miss our J-Dawg!

{More camping...

{My new goal...

I just decided that if I'm going to take the time to blog and upload pictures, I may as well take a few more minutes to create a scrapbook page! Who knows, if I can actually keep current with all my new photos I may even be able to catch up!

These pictures are from our camping trip to 11 mile last weekend. We had a really great time with the Kimballs. Thanks guys! We got started a little late this summer but we hope to get a few more camping trips in before the first snow fall........

{Introducing...

Mr. and Mrs. Forbes

Tessa and Adam were married in the Denver Temple on August 1st. Presdent Baer was their sealer and was absolutely fabulous.

They had their reception on the 2nd of August in mom and dad's backyard. Mom was busy arranging all of the flowers so Aunt Dina (aka... the white tornado) was put in charge of making sure everything else was done and accounted for.

If there is anyone who knows how to throw a party it is my mom! We've all told her that she should do it professionally. The decorations, food, flowers everything was perfect. The weather could not have cooperated any better either. It was a magical evening. Congrats Tessa and Adam!

{Where did July go?

I always thought that summer's were supposed to be carefree and lazy... well we've never been busier... Here's a snapshot of what we did in July!

We had plans to go to Telluride for the Fourth but things didn't seem to fall into place like we were hoping, so we stayed home and had a good ol' home town Fourth of July! The Reserve (our pool) had a big neighborhood party complete with food, a jump house and a belly flop contest! It was a blast. We went home that afternoon to BBQ ribs and were off again to Memorial Park for fireworks! Mom and Tanner came down for the day so it was a ball!

The very next week Liz and all her kids came out to stay with us for a week. It's a new tradition that we've started... I go see her sometime in the spring for a week and she brings her clan out in the summer! We had all the Hawker's over for dinner one night and this is a picture of Brent and Ann and all their grandkids! (not bad for 9 years!)

Julie Baer hosted family "Bunco" at the pool. We had fun swimming, eating and mingling with all our friends from the two wards.

We took an afternoon and went to 'America the Beautiful Park'. It was our first time at this park and it won't be our last. The kids had a blast running around the fountain and the view doesn't get any better!

We packed a picnic and went over to Helen Hunt Falls one night. We ate dinner, the kids played in the stream and then took a little stroll above the Falls.

A week with Liz wouldn't be complete without some kind of craft project. This year we opted to make reversible aprons. They turned out so cute! Hopefully our meals will taste even better now that they are cooked with diva love!

Jackson finished up his t-ball season. It was so funny to watch (even unbearably funny). Here's hoping for a more coordinated season next summer!

We left for a fun filled week at Oceanside California to be with the Rossell's (my mom's side of the family). It proved to be one big party just like it always is. It was so wonderful to be with everyone again and to spend some much needed time with Grandma and Grandpa! Jackson learned to 'surf' and Sam is still recovering from all the sand he ingested! We can't get enough of the beach.

Todd and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary! He is the best thing that has ever happened to me!

{Ahhh, summer...

These are the kind of moments I always envisioned motherhood being like when I was a little girl... I loved playing sports and being on a team. I still get nostalgic when I drive by a high school in the spring and the kids are all outside for track practice. There is just something about being active outdoors that I can't get enough of. Jackson has been taking swimming lessons in the mornings and just as we wrapped that up, he started baseball. He's on a team with a couple of his buddies from church and I think it's really going to be a fun time! He is at least interested in the sport which is a whole lot more than I can say for our soccer experience...
